Introduction

The reason why the drink is calleda Horse's Neck is due to the garnish of a spiral lemon peel that hangs off the rim of the glass. The peel resembles the neck of a horse. the first step in making the drink is to make the spiral lemon peel.

What You Need

Before you get started, gather the following ingredients and materials:

  1. Lemon and sharp paring knife for the spiral lemon peel
  2. 2 ounces bourbon
  3. 8 ounces ginger ale
  4. Collins glass

Step 2: Make Lemon Peel for the Horse's Neck

  1. Hold the lemon is one hand and the knife in another.
  2. Starting from the top of the lemon, cut through under skin.
  3. Continue circling the lemon, peeling a continuous strip.
  4. When you get to the bottom of the lemon, separate the strip from the lemon.
  5. place the strip in the glass, with one end touching the bottom, and the other end over the rim.

Step 3: Make the Drink

  1. Add ice to the glass, anchoring the lemon strip at the bottom of the glass.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of bourbon over the ice.
  3. Add 8 oz of ginger ale into the collins glass and stir well.
