The reason why the drink is calleda Horse's Neck is due to the garnish of a spiral lemon peel that hangs off the rim of the glass. The peel resembles the neck of a horse. the first step in making the drink is to make the spiral lemon peel.
What You Need
Before you get started, gather the following ingredients and materials:
- Lemon and sharp paring knife for the spiral lemon peel
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 8 ounces ginger ale
- Collins glass
Step 2: Make Lemon Peel for the Horse's Neck
- Hold the lemon is one hand and the knife in another.
- Starting from the top of the lemon, cut through under skin.
- Continue circling the lemon, peeling a continuous strip.
- When you get to the bottom of the lemon, separate the strip from the lemon.
- place the strip in the glass, with one end touching the bottom, and the other end over the rim.
